Board
development
Communication, expectations, duties, responsibilities, time commitments…..all
of these and more are issues boards of directors have as they serve as
volunteers and management have with boards. Board members are responsible
for the financial success of the organization, and fulfill a fiduciary
responsibility that is defined as: a duty of organizational loyalty; a
duty of care through application of business judgment; and a duty of obedience
in abiding by laws, regulations and standards.
Christy Crosser of C2 Strategies works with boards and management to identify
areas for training and development. Her style is to assess the practices
of the board. She often finds that boards will gravitate to management
and has a simple but effective way to address this.
Project Management
Project management is a broad area that requires organization
and discipline, an ability to estimate timelines and skills to be resourceful
when plans must change. There are several areas that are included in project
management. Among these are knowledge and people management, budgeting
and cost analysis, strategy development and time management, communication,
defining the scope of work, and evaluation. Putting it all together is
key to successful project management.
C2 Strategies has significant experience in project management and working
as a team with other consultants can bring needed expertise. Other consultants
that can be called upon are from Signature Resources; John Snow, Inc.;
and Stroudwater Associates. The approach is to keep project management
simple and focused; and to make it results-oriented.
Christy is a member of Project Management Institute (PMI) and participates
in the local Colorado Chapter.
Proposal Development
The areas included in proposal development include:
- Understanding what you are responding to
- Strategy development
- Problem/ need identification and statements
- Selling an idea, solution or service to meet a need
- Program plan design
- Selling your organization’s qualifications to meet needs
- Evaluation component and results
C2 Strategies wants to help you improve in the area of writing and submitting
proposals. This may include elements of increasing your comfort level
or developing templates or improving your understanding of the submission
process. Whatever it is, we can help. There are processes and techniques
to increase the likelihood of writing a winning proposal.
The consultants have experience in writing proposals, serving on review
committees and working with individuals and organizations as a team to
submit proposals. Grant writing does not have to be a dreaded task if
you have developed processes in advance. Keeping it simple, writing to
the request and having information already drafted can result in a better
response time and quality proposals.
Proposal & Grant Review
Need an objective person to review your proposal before it is submitted?
This service includes reviewing for flow, comprehension, proofing, assessing
program plans with the budget, use of jargon or initials, and other areas
of specific or general concerns.
Service Promotion & Marketing
Marketing is mostly everything we do, and for that matter don’t
do. It can be how we represent our agencies in public, to customers, funders,
colleagues and the community. Marketing can be simply presented such as
having business cards with service information on the backside, to having
a complex plan that includes advertising budget to reach a larger market.
The good thing about marketing and promotion is that it can be tailored
to meet your agency’s needs. You first need to know your target
market and your message. It is recommended that you have one message or
at least keep it focused.
Marketing is changing. It used to be business-centric and now customers
do the marketing and control more of what they see and hear. Social networking
web sites are very popular for sharing information. For many of the services,
word of mouth is still an important; however, now organizations are managing
this for better results.
C2 Strategies has experience in developing traditional and social marketing
plans and budgets, distinguishing between education and marketing, establishing
marketing strategies for specific opportunities, and working with partners
to increase marketing capacity.
See the Products section of this web site for some free materials and
information on marketing.
There is no one marketing strategy that can work, rather several may be
employed to get the results you need and want.
